3-Day Reboot

3-Day Reboot

I am not a black and white person. Never have been. I consider myself open to different opinions and viewpoints and if compelling I might change my mind on a certain matter.  Call me grey.

Which is probably one of the reasons that I allow myself some leeway from time to time with respect to my diet. Maybe some gluten free grains, like rice, buckwheat, oats, quinoa. Or some cheese or even dessert. Nothing wrong with that, right? I am feeling great, what difference is one piece of brownie going to make??

Except when the exceptions become a rule (hey I am only human!) and I start slipping dangerously to a state where my better sense of judgment has left the building and I am suddenly craving food non-stop, especially carbs. At that point my body starts to protest on multiple levels. Bloating, lower energy levels, breakouts and a general sense of toxic discomfort.

That’s when I know it’s time for a full reboot.

And after just 3 days of doing everything right again my stomach settles down, I last comfortably from 7 am breakfast to 1 pm lunch to 7 pm dinner, my skin clears up and I have the energy to start exercising again. That’s also the point I fall in love with the Paleo way all over again. And I wonder why on earth I allowed myself to venture away from this amazing anti-inflammatory way of eating.

I might be grey but my body is completely black and white. It thrives on a grain-, legume-, dairy-, sugar- free eating pattern and that’s just how it is.

So if you recognize the situation (who doesn’t??!), think you need a reboot (we all do from time to time), and could do with some inspiration: here is my 3-day eating plan with links to the recipes.

Day 1

Breakfast:

Lunch:

Dinner:

Day 2

Breakfast:

Lunch:

  • Large salad with cubed sweet potato, grated carrot, grated beetroot, grated turnip, balsamic dressing and leftover chicken, hummus and babaganoush

Dinner:

Day 3

Breakfast:

Lunch:

Dinner:

  • Salmon Parcels (I’ll post the recipe online soon but basically I top salmon filet with chopped ginger, garlic, spring onion and drizzle with tamari, rice vinegar and sesame oil – wrap it up and bake)
  • Sauteed Bok Choy
  • Boiled Sweet Potato

Happy cooking, happy eating and enjoy feeling well!
