Chocolate Banana Almond Milk Shake

I used to make banana almond milk shakes all the time but discovered a delicious addition to the mix which makes it nice and thick and heart-healthy: oats. Credit goes to Pamela Salzman. This recipe has been adapted from hers.

(serves 2)

Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe bananas, fresh or frozen (in slices)
  • 4 pitted dates, soaked in warm water for about 15 minutes
  • ¼ cup of oats, soaked in water for about 5 minutes
  • 3 tbsp of almond butter
  • ½ cup of almond milk, click here for the recipe
  • 1 tsp ground flax seeds
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened chocolate powder
  • 5 ice cubes

Preparation:

  • Place all the ingredients in a high-speed blender and blend until smooth
