Chocolate & Kale Super Smoothie

I like my smoothies green. Purely and only because there is so much goodness in green leafy vegetables. Adding them into my daily morning smoothie means I’m one serving down. A green boost to breakfast. It supercharges my energy levels and supplies me with plenty of minerals and phytonutrients right at the start of my day.

This smoothie turns kale and chocolate and some other ingredients into a liquid concoction that was simply meant to be. Creamy and delightful, chocolatey and sweet. You can almost call it dessert.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup kale, packed
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • 1 tbsp (raw) cacao powder
  • 1/2 tbsp chia seeds (soaked for 5 minutes in a bit of water)
  • 1 tbsp high quality protein powder
  • 1 small frozen banana
  • 2 small pitted dates
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 tbsp maca powder *
  • 1/2 tbsp cacao nibs

Preparation:

  • Place all the ingredients in a high-speed blender
  • Blend until smooth
