I used to make banana almond milk shakes all the time but discovered a delicious addition to the mix which makes it nice and thick and heart-healthy: oats. Credit goes to Pamela Salzman. This recipe has been adapted from hers.

Ingredients:
- 2 ripe bananas, fresh or frozen (in slices)
- 4 pitted dates, soaked in warm water for about 15 minutes
- ¼ cup of oats, soaked in water for about 5 minutes
- 3 tbsp of almond butter
- ½ cup of almond milk, click here for the recipe
- 1 tsp ground flax seeds
- 2 tbsp unsweetened chocolate powder
- 5 ice cubes

- Place all the ingredients in a high-speed blender and blend until smooth
