Ginger Mint Fizz

In Traditional Chinese Medicine there is an old saying, “Eat more radish in winter and ginger in summer, you will not need doctor’s prescriptions.”  With temperatures soaring in Delhi I have therefore appointed this my beverage of choice. The ginger provides a nice kick and the mint is oh so refreshing. And who doesn’t love a drink with a bit of fizz..

(serves 1)

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp ginger juice *
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 10 mint leaves
  • Sparkling mineral water or soda
  • Squeeze of lemon
  • 3 ice cubes and a lemon wedge to serve

Preparation:

  • Place the ginger juice, honey and mint leaves in a glass and press down on the leaves while gently twisting with a muddler until you can smell the delicious mint fragrance
  • Top with sparkling mineral water and a squeeze of lime or lemon
  • Add a few cubes of ice and serve with a lemon wedge

* Ginger Juice:

  • 1/2 cup of grated ginger
  • 1 cup of water
