Ever since we moved into our new home in Manila, my Vitamix Blender has seen plenty of action. Smoothies are my favorite breakfast at the moment and I enjoy trying out different concoctions with local fruits, greens and superfoods such as moringa. The trick to a good breakfast smoothie is to make sure it contains plenty of fiber, protein and healthy fats so that it makes you feel full longer.
This breakfast smoothie is a true green goddess. It floods your system with vitamins and minerals. It is nourishing, energizing, and detoxifying and it tastes super refreshing.
Ingredients:
- 5 pieces of rambutan (or lychee or longan), peeled and de-seeded
- 1 pear, cored and chopped
- 1 cup packed kale
- 1/2 organic cucumber, skin on and chopped
- 1 tbsp ground flax seeds
- 2 tbsp high quality protein powder (I used pea protein isolate)
- squeeze of lemon
- 1 tsp extra virgin coconut oil
- 1/2 cup cold water
Preparation:
- Place all the ingredients in a high speed blender
- Blend until smooth
- Enjoy!
