Chilled Turmeric Latte

Here is the chilled version of the nourishing, sweet, health promoting Creamy Turmeric Latte. Refreshingly delicious.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup almond milk or coconut milk
  • 1 heaped tbsp freshly grated turmeric root (or 2 tsp turmeric paste*)
  • 1 tbsp freshly grated ginger root (or 1/2 tsp ginger powder)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1/8 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 tsp coconut oil
  • 1/2 tsp honey (or to taste)
  • Ice cubes to serve

Preparation:

  • Place the milk in the pan with the turmeric, ginger, cardamom powder and coconut oil and heat to a gentle simmer
  • Allow to simmer for a few minutes, remove from the fire and let it cool down
  • Transfer to a blender, add the honey and blend until frothy
  • Pour into a glass filled with ice cubes through a strainer, pressing out all the liquid with a spoon
  • Drizzle extra honey on top and sprinkle with cinnamon powder
  • Enjoy!

* to make turmeric paste, combine 2 parts of turmeric powder with 1 part boiling water. You can store this in the fridge for up to 5 days. Tip: use this paste to add to smoothies for an anti-oxidant boost
