Here is the chilled version of the nourishing, sweet, health promoting Creamy Turmeric Latte. Refreshingly delicious.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup almond milk or coconut milk
- 1 heaped tbsp freshly grated turmeric root (or 2 tsp turmeric paste*)
- 1 tbsp freshly grated ginger root (or 1/2 tsp ginger powder)
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
- 1/8 tsp cardamom powder
- 1 tsp coconut oil
- 1/2 tsp honey (or to taste)
- Ice cubes to serve
Preparation:
- Place the milk in the pan with the turmeric, ginger, cardamom powder and coconut oil and heat to a gentle simmer
- Allow to simmer for a few minutes, remove from the fire and let it cool down
- Transfer to a blender, add the honey and blend until frothy
- Pour into a glass filled with ice cubes through a strainer, pressing out all the liquid with a spoon
- Drizzle extra honey on top and sprinkle with cinnamon powder
- Enjoy!
* to make turmeric paste, combine 2 parts of turmeric powder with 1 part boiling water. You can store this in the fridge for up to 5 days. Tip: use this paste to add to smoothies for an anti-oxidant boost
