Healthy Homemade Christmas Gifts

With Christmas around the corner you might be searching for small giveaways: for family members, friends, Christmas party hosts, neighbors or teachers.

In my opinion, the best gifts are edible and even better: home made. It adds that extra special touch when you can present something out of your own kitchen, especially when it is delicious and healthy!

I have put together a list with 12 of my favorite homemade Christmas goodies so you can stop searching and start giving!

1. Festive Dark Chocolate Bark

This one is for the lovers of dark chocolate. Pistachios and goji berries (or cranberries) add the Christmas colors. Wrap it in some cellophane with a red ribbon and tuck it in a jar or mug and you have yourself a delectable and festive gift.

2. Spiced Oranger Ginger Nuts

Salty and sweet with a delicious mix of flavors, these nuts are easy to prepare and lovely to receive.

3. Thai Flavored Cashew Nuts

Be prepared for an explosion of flavors. These cashews are addictive!

4. Chai Tea Mix

I used this idea from The Kitchn for Christmas give-aways a few years ago. I packaged it like suggested in mini-Weck jars along with a recipe card. Came out adorable and much appreciated.

5. Homemade Lavender Lemon Lip Balm

A nourishing lip balm recipe without all the chemicals.

6. Homemade Granola

How about a jar of homemade “Not so Plain Vanilla Granola”? Add in some dried fruits, tie it up with a bow and off you go!

7. Paleo Trail Mix

This trail mix has no added flavors but just the pure goodness of nuts and dried fruits. Perfect for the fitness lover who needs to keep healthy snacks around for a quick pick-me-up. Add some goji berries for a pop of Christmas color.

8. Homemade Vanilla Extract

This is so easy to make and so hard to find! Most of the vanilla extract you find in the supermarkets is artificial unless you have access to health food stores. This one takes a bit of planning but you could always label the bottle so that people know not to use it before it is ready.

9. Homemade Herb Butter

Use good quality butter (grass-fed is best) and fresh herbs and present it to your favorite foodie. They are going to be delighted!

10. Chocolate Spice Cake

An old-time favorite. Gluten free and sugar free. Use mini-loaf pans to make them perfect gift-sized.

11. Granola Bars

It is difficult to find “honest” granola bars out there. This one here has nothing but real food ingredients and makes a perfect gift for the person on the run that needs healthy snack options. I do suggest using almond butter instead of peanut butter.

12. Healthy Chocolate Truffles

One more for the chocolate lover who has an interest in looking after his/her health.
